June 25, 2026 – Ghana’s downstream petroleum sector witnessed a major boost today with the official sod-cutting ceremony for Phase 2 of the Sentuo Oil Refinery Project in the Tema Industrial Area.
The landmark event was graced by H.E. President John Dramani Mahama, who performed the sod-cutting as Guest of Honour, signaling the commencement of the next stage of the refinery’s expansion.
The ceremony also highlighted strong institutional collaboration, with the Chief Executive Officer of the Minerals Commission ably represented by Mr. Isaac Kuuwan Mwinbelle, Director, Industrial Minerals. His presence underscored the vital regulatory synergy driving Ghana’s ambitious industrial transformation agenda.
Celebrated under the theme “From Ghana’s Oil Fields to Ghana’s Industries, Powering National Transformation”, the project marks a pivotal milestone in Ghana’s quest for economic self-reliance and industrial growth.
